Melanotan II is the unapproved tanning peptide, a melanocortin agonist with libido side effects prominent enough to spawn a separate drug program. Regulators in multiple countries have warned against it by name, which distinguishes it even within this market.
Melanotan II’s published record is wide but old. Of the current top five, only one vendor has a 2026 test date; the other four last published results in mid-2025, over a year ago. Scores cluster at 70 to 72 with roughly $2.90 to $4.14 per milligram pricing, but a score built on year-old tests describes batches that are long gone. Across the full record of 172 tests and 41 vendors, the freshest result is from July 2026, so current data exists. It just is not concentrated at the top of the table. Sort by the last-tested column before the score column here.
Health regulators in the US, UK, and Australia have issued warnings specifically naming melanotan products, a distinction most research peptides never earn. The same receptor family produced bremelanotide, the approved drug Vyleesi, which began as a melanotan derivative; that story lives on the PT-141 page. None of this changes how we index the compound. It does mean the gap between what sellers claim and what regulators say is wider here than usual.
It is sold as a research chemical, and it is also one of the few peptides regulators have warned about by name, with enforcement aimed at sellers marketing it for tanning.
Lower demand than the GLP-1 compounds means slower testing turnover. A 2025 test topping the table in late 2026 is a symptom of that, not a reassurance.
Scored vendors publish $2.90 to $4.14 per milligram. With records this stale, weight the vendor’s most recent test date at least as heavily as the number.
