BPC-157 is a synthetic 15-amino-acid peptide fragment derived from a protective protein found in gastric juice. It is one of the most searched “healing” peptides and one of the least clinically proven: virtually all of its evidence is preclinical (animal) research. It has no approved medical use anywhere.
Animal studies, largely from a single research group, report accelerated tendon, ligament, muscle, and gut healing. Peer-reviewed human trial evidence is essentially absent, a gap recent reviews in the medical literature keep pointing out. “Promising in rats” is the honest summary of the record.
BPC-157 is not FDA-approved and not lawful to market for human use. For athletes it is unambiguous: WADA prohibits BPC-157, and USADA has specifically warned athletes about it appearing in supplements. The FDA has also raised concerns about its use in compounding.
Injectable lyophilized vials dominate; capsule and “stable” oral forms are marketed for gut-focused use. Published third-party testing applies to all of them, and label-accuracy failures show up in every format.
